REFUND / RETURN POLICY : Prairie Roots Botanical

Because Prairie Roots Botanical offers handmade, small-batch herbal goods, all sales are generally final. This policy describes how issues are handled in a way that is fair while protecting the safety and integrity of the products.

1. All Sales Are Final

Due to the nature of cosmetic and herbal products, items cannot be resold once they have left the studio. For this reason, returns and exchanges are not accepted, except where required by applicable consumer protection laws.

Please read product descriptions and ingredient lists carefully before purchasing.

2. Order Errors or Concerns

If there is a problem with your order, please reach out within 3 days of receiving your package:

  1. Include your order number

  2. Describe the issue

  3. Attach photos if helpful (for example, if something arrived damaged)

  4. Every effort will be made to respond in good faith and find a reasonable solution within the limits of this policy.

3. Damaged Items in Transit

If an item arrives damaged:

1. Take clear photos of the packaging and the damaged product.

2. Email the photos and your order number within 72 hours of delivery.

Depending on the situation, a partial refund, replacement, or store credit may be offered, at the sole discretion of Prairie Roots Botanical.

4. Lost, Delayed, or Misdelivered Packages

Once an order has been handed off to the shipping carrier (Canada Post, Sendle, etc.), responsibility for transit passes to the carrier.

Tracking information (when available) will be provided to you.

If a package is delayed, lost, or marked as delivered but not received, you are responsible for contacting the carrier and opening a support or investigation ticket.

Prairie Roots Botanical cannot guarantee carrier timelines and is not responsible for delays outside of its control.

Assistance will be provided where possible (for example, sharing tracking information), but refunds for carrier-related issues are generally not offered.

5. Incorrect Address Provided by Customer

Please double-check your shipping information at checkout.

If you notice an error, contact Prairie Roots Botanical immediately. If the order has not shipped, the address may be updated.

If the order has already shipped, additional shipping costs or lost packages due to an incorrect address are the responsibility of the customer.

6. Allergic Reactions & Sensitivities

Because every body is different and sensitivities vary, Prairie Roots Botanical cannot offer refunds for allergic reactions, skin sensitivities, or dislike of scent/texture.

Ingredients are clearly listed so you can make informed choices. Please:

Review all ingredients before purchasing

Avoid products containing any allergens

Perform a patch test when needed

If you experience irritation, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

7. Cancellations

Unpaid orders are automatically cancelled after 5 hours if e-transfer payment is not received.

If you need to cancel a paid order, contact Prairie Roots Botanical as soon as possible. If the order has not yet been packed or shipped, cancellation may be possible at the sole discretion of the shop owner. Once an order is prepared or shipped, it can no longer be cancelled or refunded.

8. Legal Rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit your rights under applicable consumer protection laws in Canada. Where the law provides mandatory rights or remedies, they will be honoured.
